Genuine support from capable travellers

Far From attracts travellers who’ve lived a little — many are career breakers, skilled DIYers, ex-professionals, or couples who’ve renovated homes and worked in real jobs. You’re not just getting gap year kids — you're getting thoughtful, capable people who’ll treat your home or business with care.

Flexibility that fits your needs

You set the exchange: whether it's 3 hours a day for a cosy guest room, or 4-5 hours a day with meals in return. You're in control of the arrangement and the kind of help you’re looking for.

No platform pressure or complicated contracts

We’re building a transparent, community-led alternative to crowded listing sites. If a booking is made but you can no longer fulfil it, don’t worry, there are no strict cancellation rules/ penalties, all we ask for is honest communication.

Fairer, more balanced, exchanges

We believe your contribution (a beautiful space, local knowledge, meals, etc.) deserves more than wallpaper stripping and weeding. Far From encourages hosts and travellers to match value with value — whether that’s a skilled task or just someone who genuinely wants to muck in.

A meaningful cultural exchange

Hosts often tell us the friendships and fresh perspectives are the most rewarding part. Whether you're looking for help or simply good company whilst working on your project, the impact often goes beyond the job list.

Ed & Katie helped Andy and his dad dig a space for their new pond

After hearing about Ed and Katie’s own pond installation, Andy arranged for a rented digger to arrive at the same time the couple were staying in their annexe. Over the course of a few days in May, a pond was created, plants were in and the couple are due to return next year to help with another garden project!

Sarah & Nick renovated a second-home ready for tenants

With a keen view to turnaround renovating a Norwich terrace house, Jen & Les let this couple stay in the house for 6 weeks to help move the renovations along in time for getting the house on the market.

Kate, Alex & Clive prepared a wedding venue for a busy summer season

With ample accommodation usually used for wedding season, the Robbins family let these 3 stay in exchange for ticking off a bunch of DIY jobs, general cleaning and garden maintenance in the run up ready for their busiest summer yet!
